Hello, Andrew. I am a friend of your dad’s from high school and I wanted you to know that we are thinking of you! My dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2006 (Oligodendroglinoma) and so our family has been dealing with all the stuff that comes along with this sort of thing. We hope that you are having a good day today and if you’re even in the Colorado mountains we would love to meet you!

Hi Andrew,
We are friends of your Grandma Jenny’s. We stay in her Cape Cod house a lot. My little girl has to go to the hospital alot in Boston so we stay in Sagamore for the week.
You are truly an amazing kid. My little girl had to have a feeding tube as well. Her’s had a little valve on it like a beach ball that went into her stomach. She no longer has it.
I loved the pictures of you shaving heads!! You are an inspiration to all. Hope you feel better soon.

Andrew,
I am so sorry to hear that you are sick. I know that you are a strong boy and that you will fight and get better. I’ve known other kids who got sick and now are doing well. I believe in you!
You know, you were always one of my favorite students and I still belive that you are a special little boy. I think about you every day and you should know that you are in my heart.
Work hard on your studies because when you’re able, you can go back to school and show them what you know!!
Read loads of books, get smart, be strong and take good care of yourself.
Love always,
Mrs. Reynolds

Andrew,
I have been following all of your stories on your web page for the past several months. Your web site is really neat. I especially enjoy your videos! Well, I must say, that the Study Center at Whitney just isn’t the same without your smiling face peeking in at the door at the bottom of the stairs! You are such a smart young man especially in math! I think you have already passed all of your mutiplication facts – last year! Mrs. Moon and I sure miss you! Take care and we hope to see you soon when our new school building is open! Bye for now!

I do hope you get to go home from the hospital today, but want you to know that it was very brave and smart of you to know you maybe needed to stay one more night. You are a very smart young man. Keep sending the videos, as we all love watching them.

Hi Andrew,
It has been awhile since we last wrote. I have been keeping up with your activities( sounds like the prom was a blast!).
I am glad your N/G tube has been removed…and that your are doing OK with your eating. I hope your blood counts improve. It would be sad to think that they may need to postpone your next chemo…I know you are getting the very best care and are surrounded by so many folks who love you and are praying for you and your family.
Keep smiling…that beautiful smile.( heh…a cavity..OH YUCK!!!). Wouldn’t it great if it just disappeared!
Talk to you later,

Hi Andrew:
I am a former business associate of Albertsons, Inc. I have been following your progress since I first heard of your diagnosis. Someone your age should not have to go through such a terrible thing. My husband and my daughter and I have all survived cancer in various forms, so we know a thing or two about fighting cancer.
They say that God does not give you more than you can handle (hard to accept sometimes) and that once you have gone through something like this, you are a stronger and more compassionate person.
I wish you all the best and a full recovery. Please get well and know that strangers like me are praying for you.
Sincerely,
Coleen Reed

hi andrew! what a brave guy you are. i know it’s got to be hard sometimes, but you got a great family, and lots of friends pulling for you. i am a friend of your aunt val’s, so i hope you will count me as your friend, too. i live in Iowa right on the mississippi river. mark twain used to live in my town when he was a young man. and if you read the records of early river explorers, they mention the same bluffs and the large bend in the river we have right here at Muscatine. it gives you a real sense of history.
well that is enough about where i live. i am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers andrew. God bless.

Andrew,
When I heard about your situation and have read all that you have been through it breaks my heart. I want you to know you were such a sweet boy to have in primary in the vista ward and I couldn’t choose a better kid as a friend for my boy. We keep you in our prayers.

Hi Andrew,
I just want to say, keep up the good fight buddy. Stay positive about everything. Your mind is a very powerful thing, and if you keep the attitude that everything will be okay, and just know within yourself deep down you will overcome this, amazing things will happen. Stay strong, and keep having fun. My prayers are with you.

Hey Andrew,
I remember being your age, and all I did was play video games. Heck, I’m 18 now, and all I do is play video games. Unfortunately, I’m starting college soon, so I have more important things to focus on. Enjoy gaming while you’re a kid dude, because you’re not going to have much time for them once you’re an adult! I sure wish I could be a kid again. Anyway, keep your chin up. While it may seem like you’re missing out now, the world’s not going anywhere. It’s just waiting for you.
I saw something your mom posted on a gaming site, so I figured I’d come by and say hello. I’m sure you’re tired of people saying they’re sorry for you, so I’m not going to do that.

Hi Andrew or is it Andy
I read about you in a post your Father made on the Kotaku website, so I thought I would pop over and say hello!
How’s your day gone today, fella?
Hope your making progress and keeping good, positive thoughts going.
I live all the way over here in England, a place called St Albans, its a fascinating little city with a lot of history behind it, to be exact, though Monday to Friday I work in a place called Birmingham. Its supposed to be British summertime over here, holiday season, but as I look out the window all I can see is rain..typical rainy English weather!
I work as an artist for a computer games firm called “CodeMasters”, maybe you have heard of us? We make lots of cool racing games, and a few other sports and action games. Lots of fun….and beats working for a living
Keep strong Andrew, all the best for the future.

Andrew –
Stay strong, buddy! It’s good to see you smiling. I stumbled on your website through another link.
Hang in there and keep your spirits up!
August 10th, 2009 at 7:52 pm
I’m a 30 year old man and can say without a shadow of doubt that you are stronger than I am. Know that God loves you and my family will keep you in our prayers.
August 10th, 2009 at 8:16 pm
Yo Andrew,
I read about you from your dad back at a site I frequent and I have to say you’re one tough little guy. I can’t imagine the things you’re going through, but I just want to wish you luck and try to give you the spirit to rock on.
Hope you get better little man
August 10th, 2009 at 8:21 pm
Andrew,
Hello from Charleston, SC! We don’t know each other, but I wanted to write and wish you all the best! Your mother seems to love you very much, and I’m sure she is not the only one. Take care buddy!
August 10th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Hi Andrew,
I am an avid reader of Kotaku and just wanted to let you know I saw your dad’s comment about you. He cares about you very much and from the comments on your website I can tell many other people do as well. It’s good to see you like games so much, I have been playing since I was 4 years old and it got me though many tough times. I hope to see you better soon!
August 10th, 2009 at 10:05 pm
Andrew,
I had leukemia when I was about the same age as you. Bone cancer, essentially. I saw your dad post on a website (Kotaku), and I thought I’d say hey. I think the only thing that got me through chemo was my old Nintendo (8 bit, with the rectangle controllers). It may seem scary, but take it from a survivor that you’re a very brave boy. I wish I’d had the internet back then. Your family seems to have really gone all out for you with this site! I especially love that Daily Prophet paper. Brilliant!
Just be sure to get really good at whatever games they have laying around so you can destroy all the friends you’ll have when you get better. Show them you were busy.
August 10th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Hi Andrew,
A big hello from Singapore! I came across your site in one of the Kotaku comments sections. After reading through your stories I just want to say you’re one tough kid! Hang in there, and I wish you the best of luck. Stay positive and don’t let anything get you down.
August 10th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
Hello there Andrew,
You don’t know me but I have been reading about your story. It’s kids like you that keep me going too. I also have an illness and even take some chemotherapy drugs to help treat my Crohn’s Disease. I know it’s gotta be hard to stay happy and sometimes you might wonder “Why me?”, but you are a great kid and you’ll get through this!
Hope you are feeling better soon and you can get back to doing what you love.
Sincerely, Steven
